Top Movies 2005

Es ist Jahresende, und Toplisten sind „in“:

  1. Star Wars Episode III: Einfach nur cool. Anakin v Obi-Wan… grossartig !
„The Marriage of Chuck & Cindy“ ist eine ewige Party…

Since it is the end of the year, and toplists are hip:

  1. Star Wars Episode III: Pure coolness. Anakin v Obi-Wan… tremendous !
  2. Batman Begins: You have to wait an hour for Dark Knight Christian Bale to put on his cape for the first time. Scarecrow is a worthy opponent, who unfortunately turns out to be only a thug (the usual story twist), but kicks more ass than main villain Henri Ducard aka Ra’s Al Ghul. The extra gizmo is Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman and Rutger Hauer as supporting cast (!).
  3. Elizabethtown: Story around Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst is a bit slow paced at times (and I don’t mean „crap“ here, Martin !), but the subplots and side characters in Elizabethtown, Kentucky make up for that. „The Marriage of Chuck & Cindy“ is one 24/7 party…
The movie’s music – as usual for Cameron Crowe – is excellent !

… year’s biggest disappointment:

  1. Sin City: Lotsa hype around nothing. Visuals onyl just don’t make a movie (with a few minor exceptions). Too much pointless violence. Not even Bruce Willis and Jessica Alba can save this one.

not seen (yet):

  • The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
  • King Kong
  • War of the Worlds
  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

I don’t expect too much of the two movies which opened in December, but will have to see them anyway. War of the Worlds just passed on me, with the Potter series I did not see parts 1-3, so I won’t start with No. 4 now.

Grinch, you woman, Elizabeth Town is such a shitty film and the only men that watch it are men that have been forced to watch it by means of black mail by their wife or girlfriend.
On the other hand Star Wars Ep3, kicks ass. „You were the chosen one“!. „i will destroy you“ (lightsabers twizzling, anakins limbs go all over the place), and there you have it Darth Vader is born.
